Celebrate my birthday with a gift for our troops!

My Dear Friends and Family,

Twenty years ago my dad left the day after Thanksgiving to serve in the Persian Gulf War; during those days it was difficult to contact a soldier and at times many months would pass before we would get a call from him. Often it was a bad connection and lasted only a few minutes.

With my birthday falling just ten days later I am asking all my loved ones to give the gift of helping military personnel contact their loved ones. My birthday wish is that at least 25 of you would give the gift of 80 ($18.41) or 143 ($27.91) minutes to a soldier (can be one you know or the Red Cross will distribute one for you).

You can purchase calling cards here:https://shop.aafes.com/scs/default.aspx

If you can’t afford to give (or even if you can) you may consider sending them a postcard here:http://www.letssaythanks.com

I will be posting more about this over the next 10 days, if you decide to give, please post it to my wall as I will consider it one of the most precious birthday gifts ever!

Be Intentional

Fear or Conflict leads us to operate in desperation

Love or Peace leads to operate out of intent

It also works in reverse; desperate acts cause conflict while intentional, purposeful decisiveness leads to peace.

Aging

Oh new grey hair upon my head
You must of come while I was is bed
Are you a sign of wisdoms gain
Or result of hard times pain
With each days pass you show no retreat
It seems my youth has admit defeat
Can I claim I've aged with grace
Or are you the prize of life's hard race
